Join us on the Third Thursday of each month at a different CADD member gallery for a Happy Hour! Learn about each gallery's current and upcoming program of exhibitions, meet the gallery owners and their staff, meet the gallery artists, and other like-minded, arts driven professionals in the DFW area. Happy hours are proudly sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery & Arts+Culture Texas Magazine.
Since 2011 CADD has invited the public to its highly successful fundraiser, Eat Your Art Out. The event, sometimes dinner and sometimes brunch, promises to be unique, fun, and adventurous - including brunch at a mystery destination followed by a special art tour. Destinations differ but may include a collector’s home, an artist’s studio, a CADD member gallery, or another artistic location in Dallas. Proceeds fund the CADD Scholarship and other CADD Educational Programs.
CADD Bus Tour Saturday, June 1, 2019 1:00pm-5:00pm
Art Collectors and Patrons are presented with a Rare Opportunity to experience a “Behind the Scenes" visit to two artists' studios, an architect's home, and two well-established CADD Galleries, Mary Tomás Gallery and Valley House Gallery & Sculpture Garden.
The CADD Bus Tour will be on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The tour begins promptly at 1:00pm at Mary Tomás Gallery, 1110 Dragon Street, in the Dallas Design District where guests will view bold, impressive and grand works in B.I.G., a curated exhibition featuring works by gallery artists Masri, Roy Tamboli, Mary Tomás, Ellen Soffer, and Fred Villanueva.
Highlights of the tour will be a visit to the award-winning art-space, ASH STUDIOS, run by artists and cultural organizers, Fred Villanueva and Darryl Ratcliff. The studio, located near Fair Park, focuses on the Social Practices of arts in the community and serves as an incubator of ideas for a diverse group of artists and creators. Guests will view a multiple artistic collaborative work in progress made possible by a TACA Grant.
From Fair Park, the bus will head to East Dallas to visit a neighboring studio and home in Little Forest Hills. Bus tour participants will have the opportunity to see the sculpture and drawing studios of Michael O'Keefe. His figurative explorations were the subject of recent concurrent exhibitions at The Museum of Biblical Art and Valley House Gallery. Be the first to see the Parthenon Project, underway in his studio. Then, a walk across the street to tour the home of architect Bentley Tibbs to see his collection of art in a residence transformed by his Southern Modernism.
Continue north to Valley House Gallery & Sculpture Garden where Jim Woodson's exhibition, Time Enfolded, is on view. The High Desert of Abiquiu, around his New Mexico studio, near Georgia O’Keeffe’s Ghost Ranch, inspires Woodson's paintings. After serving on the faculty at TCU for 38 years, Woodson retired in 2013 and was awarded Texas State Artist of the Year (2D).
Cocktails and lite bites to be enjoyed in the Sculpture Garden before boarding the bus back to Mary Tomás Gallery.
