FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DALLAS, TX

Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas announce winner for its first CADD FUNd competition!

Sunday evening, November 16th, after soup was served, 150 audience members listened to 6 different graduate students’ presentations of projects they would like to fund. This hugely successful event at 3015 at Trinity Groves was a highly interactive community fundraiser involving six artist presentations, questions, and finally, voting for the winner by ballot. Julie Libersat, a University of North Texas student, was announced the winner and recipient of a check in the amount of $5,500.

Ms. Libersat is pursuing a Master of Art Education and a Master of Fine Arts in New Media from the University of North Texas in Denton. Her proposed project, called “ROAM”, is an interactive urban exploration and mapping game for smart phones that helps players “get lost”. She states that the mobile app is a creative tool that helps players get lost as a prompt to have an artistic interaction with the environment through disorientation.
